The Crypt Keeper is the cackling host of the HBO anthology, greeting viewers with a barrage of ghoulish puns before and after each story. He is an animatronic puppet designed by Kevin Yagher and voiced by John Kassir. Derived from the host of EC Comics' 1950s horror line, the television Crypt Keeper became the breakout mascot of the entire franchise, appearing in the series, the feature films, the animated spin-offs, video games, and merchandise.
